Our SiteI love this picture. Mary Peterson retired after 28 years at the Good Samaritan this past week! She will be missed by so many people! Thank you Mary for your kindness toward every person that walked through our doors. Your obediance and faithfulness shines through! Even though the chair is empty...you left us a good foundation!We are always so happy to see our furniture store fully stocked! This gorgeous oak dining table came in last week. It measures 83 1/2 x 41 1/2 x 29 high. Solid oak dinning room table with six chairs. Come visit our live tour for a look at all the nice things.Go to our Good Samaritan face book page. Â
We sure had a great time with Amy from the Health Department of Northwest Michigan! She presented a N.E.W. (Nutrition Education Workshop) for the moms at Moms & Tots Center! The conversation centered around preparing and tasting healthy good food! ! Participants also received recipes, meal strategies, and a kid food friendly book! We can’t wait until next time! Healthy, nutritious meals for family=YES!! "Cook Together. Eat Together. Talk Together."
I still get a tingly feeling when I think about our next event! It is called Bikes for Books! We have been blessed with a donation of over 60 gently used bikes. We have an end of Summer Book reading program that will begin on August 7 and run through August 30. This program will be for all families served through Good Samaritan, Moms & Tots and His House. The program is for kids ages 2-12. Those who register and bring in a completed Book Reading Bingo board can earn a new-to-them bike! We are so excited to offer this program to our families!
Waiting. It is something that I do not do very well! This week has been one of those weeks! We have clients who are going through some real trials.Some who have to wait for the next job, the next check, or the next Dr. visit. It is always good to remind our clients and myself that there is nothing that happens that is out of God's mind and heart! And then the promise..when waiting on Him,;my strength IS renewed and I can Soar! Sometimes things don't happen according to plan....but we always find a way to make it work! Third Thursday Prayer Breakfast will be on the 4th Thursay in August...August 34  We have a wonderful home cooked breakfast, some time to relax and enjoy good company, and spend time reflecting and praying. We'd love to have you join us! We meet at in the multipurpose room at the Moms & Tots Center.Dear God!  We all were so blessed to have had Mary for those 28 years! Bless her and her family! Thank You for the people You bring to us. Help us hold Your name up high and give You all the credit. Please comfort and give peace to all those who are suffering. Lord, life is about the little things. Remind us to enjoy them and take time to honor You.
